McKenzie Shook Photography

Hi, I'm McKenzie and I am a senior in high school. I enjoy music, and I play the flute/piccolo in the marching band. I have always liked to take photos, but I never expected to come this far. I enjoy shooting both film and digital. I shoot both color and black and white film. I mostly edit my photos in Lightroom, but Photoshop is another tool I use.  

 

While browsing my site, you'll notice that most of my photos are of nature. I find that when shooting the outdoors, you can get a better feel for the images. You don't have as much control as you would with a model. You can't change how a tree sits or how the leaves sway in the wind. I really like that aspect of shooting nature.

 

A goal I have for myself is to shoot more portraits. I enjoy getting candid shots of people because I feel like you can truly capture the feeling in that moment. I want to try to set more models for my portraits and I want to feel comfortable taking the photos as well.

I want to continue to advance my skills in photography and become a better photographer as time goes on. It's become a part of my life and I'll continue to shoot as the days, months, and years fly by.
